BioWare Edmonton is seeking a seasoned Cinematic Animator while influencing the next generation of world class narrative driven games.  Cinematic Animators bring a movie-like quality to the narrative of the games by creating emotionally impactful cut scenes.


What does BioWare look for?


  • Intrinsic ability for storytelling. Develop and animate cut scenes that support the narrative of the games
  • Animate human and creature forms, giving the character weight, personality, mood, and believability. Convey mood and emotion through facial animation
  • Define and estimate tasks in a well organized manner
  • Interact and collaborate with the different departments (Design, Art, Programming, Writing, etc.)
  • A solid understanding of composition and camera language
  • Excellent problem solving skills. Candidate must be able to quickly identify issues and resolve them.
  • Fluency with other graphics tools such as Maya, ZBrush, MotionBuilder and Photoshop
  • Classical Animation background, Degree in Fine Arts or Computer Animation
  • A thorough understanding of the key aspects of game development including detailed knowledge of pre-production, production and post-production
