Epic Games is building a team to develop large-scale highly available secure online services and infrastructure to support innovative connected online gaming for new and existing IPs that is going to revolutionize the gaming industry. The position is responsible for designing and implementing scalable and highly available system architecture. He/she will work closely with other engineers translating the non-functional requirements into system architecture and design.

  • Review, design and oversee the implementation of epic’s web framework to all consumer facing websites and applications.
  • Ensure the utilization of latest web technology to build user-friendly high performance web applications, both on the front-end and back-end.
  • Maintain and communicate technical risks across the group.
  • Performance improvement and security hardening of web applications and infrastructure.
  • Collect and help analyze web analytics for all consumer facing web applications.
  • Provides input for production/live release control process.


  • 6+ years’ experience building and maintaining secure, scalable and highly available consumer facing web applications.
  • 3+ years’ experience architecting and leading web projects.
  • Fluent in Java or other object oriented language. Knowledge in functional programming is a big asset.
  • Extensive experience with grails, vaadin, and other web framework.
  • Extensive experience with HTML, Javascript, and CSS.
  • Experience with database systems, both relational and NoSQL database.
  • Experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS cloud services.



  • Experience with setting up and integrating Enterprise CMS solution.
  • Experience with deployment tools such as Chef, Puppet, Fabric, etc.
  • Experience with setting up continuous integration infrastructure using TeamCity or Jenkins.
