Job Description

Responsibilites:
The VFX Supervisor will be responsible for the creative direction of live-action feature film shots at Prime Focus. He/she will be the key point of contract with the creative leads on the client/production side in concert with Prime Focus’s VFX Producers and the point person for deciding internal sign off on ‘final’shots. The VFX Supervisor will also be the internal ‘watch-dog’ with respect to the dependencies between all elements of the film pipeline.

The ideal candidate may be required to contribute extensively to the staffing requirements of the film team. Excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, a team player and the ability to take direction essential.

Job Description:
• Design and implement the creative direction of each shot and sequence
• Work closely with the client (s) to ensure their vision is met
• Be part of the bidding process, assess the shots and provide shot back downs
• Work closely with the VFX Producer to ensure an accurate production schedule is set up and maintained
• Work together with the CG Supervisor to work out element, technical and R&D requirements
• Daily reviews of assets and work in progress
• Work closely with all departments on pipeline improvement and development

Requirements:
• At least 5 years experience within high-end film based VFX pipelines as a VFX Supervisor or extensive experience as a senior, lead or supervising artist.
• Should have film pre-production and on set experience and the ability to work with film makers / studios in relevant environments.
• Solid knowledge of VFX shot production and its iteration process.
• Thorough understanding of color theory and film application for live-action features including filmstock, filmgrain, colorspace and lookup tables, film processing and DI processes.
• Must have extensive experience with blue/greenscreen compositing as well as integration of 3D elements into plates.
• Up to date knowledge of VFX tools and emerging technologies.
• Extensive hands-on experience with production tools and pipelines.
