Our ideal candidate has a "can do" attitude, is detail-oriented, technically minded, patient, and eager to learn new skills in a broad range of knowledge in hardware, software, light, colors paces, measurement, databases, etc.
The right candidate will also be sensitive to immediacy of production needs/emergencies, and the importance of client relations.
Some work must be carried out at night or on weekends when light levels are low/production is at a minimum.

Department Overview:
We provide services to several of the Company facilities in regards to Color management systems, databases, and software development. Our color management activities are primarily centered in Vancouver, with some advisory responsibilities to other sites. We work in conjunction with all other departments to supply technical solutions to production, technology, administration, and accounting problems.

Key Responsibility:

Color Management Hardware
Monitoring and maintaining cinemas, TV rooms, a fleet of monitors, and the video routing systems - This includes video, audio, screens, masking, cabling, etc.
Color calibrating the projectors, TVs and monitors.
Color Management Software - Assisting in the development of the color calibration software by providing usage and testing feedback to the programmers.
Maintaining a database of department assets, and documentation of our systems.

Production Support:

Gathering show color management requirements from artists, producers, and clients when a new show is brought in house.
Developing and implementing a plan to accommodate Productions needs.
Working with programmers to create colorspace transformations.

Planning & Research:

Assisting in the development of new tools to improve the ease of use and reliability of the hardware and software.
Learning software development and database administration.
Working with colleagues to ensure that shows have color calibrated hardware, and are using the correct colorspace.

Training provided.

Show color setup and support
Meetings with clients/DI to determine studio wide color standards; creation, testing, and rollout of LUTs, and color pipeline theory

Required Skills:

Need familiarity with intermediate computer skills.
The ability to learn new things & tasks quickly
Knowledge in Linux a bonus however not required
Highly Organized
Detail Oriented
Someone who shows and takes initiative with project management
Good communication skills
Projector experience such eg. Christie and/or Barco
Remains calm under pressure
Able to work with a flexible schedule

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
