The QA Director will have overall responsibility for managing and directing the internal/external QA testing efforts for our game, which is being developed for the Xbox One. You will be working strategically with the game team to gather requirements, come up with a comprehensive testing strategy and then oversee its execution. You will also partner with Microsoft’s Global Test Organization on the full testing plans and coverage for the title. This role requires a hands on approach to communication with management at all levels, with the ability to be resourceful and liaise with other QA functions within the larger Microsoft organization. You will be responsible for driving the QA team against test plans/scripts across all stages of the product lifecycle, ensuring that they are following defined processes and methods that instil confidence and trust, culminating in a high quality product that can be delivered to our consumers. You will also be responsible for working with engineering teams to develop automation strategies and to deliver testing tools.

Candidate Requirements:
•7+ years of experience in a Senior QA position, with at least 5+ years in a management capacity.
•10+ shipped titles in a multi-disciplined project test management environment, with at least 5+ titles in a management capacity.
•Demonstrated understanding of the SDLC, from pre-production to post-launch, within the video games industry.
•Experience forecasting and managing to a QA budget.
•Experience architecting and implementing new test and automation technologies to efficiently test large scale games.
•Experience creating and deploying automated build verification systems.
•Proven ability to manage large teams (50+ people).
•Proven ability to manage a culturally diverse team of people both remotely and locally.
•Proven ability to collaborate, influence, and negotiate with different teams.
•Knowledge and hands on experience with common bug tracking tools (Bugzilla, Test Track, JIRA, Dev Track etc.).
•Expertise and experience in testing Xbox 360 games.
•Expert level understanding of 1st party requirements and submissions (ie. TRC/TCR) a strong asset.
•Strong project management and leadership skills are a must.
•A passion for quality products, games and leading edge technology.
•Experience testing online features and services is desirable.

Candidate Profile:
•Strong track record of shipping 90+ rated console games.
•Able to work in a fast paced environment under minimal supervision.
•Strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills; ability to be resourceful.
•Ability to juggle multiple projects/initiatives and meet strict deadlines, without sacrificing quality and/or lose site of the big picture.
•Able to exercise independent judgement in adapting procedures and solutions.
•Professional, yet personable demeanour.
•A self-starter who is relentless in the quest for quality.
•A BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent job experience.
