General description

The incumbent is responsible for planning, creating and managing the calendar and schedule of the production team assigned to the project based on the parameters he receives from the client. He acts as a link between the client and the production team to requirements while meeting the time schedule and budget predicted. He must also, in collaboration with the coordinator and supervisor, monitor the project and ensure its smooth running.


  • Must have a university degree in project management or in communication;
  • Have three (3) to five (5) years of experience in coordination or project management in the film industry;
  • Good knowledge of English and French (spoken and written);
  • Has good knowledge of software from Microsoft Office suite, Access, Filemaker and Internet;
  • Knowledge of project planning software such as Omniplan or MS Project, is a definite asset;
  • Has good knowledge of the reality of the film industry, visual effects and post production;


Principal responsibilities

  • Take note of the extent of the current project or upcoming one (reading scripts and other documents);
  • Understand customer expectations and all the specifications relating to the project;
  • Maintain all communications (verbal and written) with the client;
  • Design, plan and manage the project schedule and timetable of tasks related to it;
  • Plan all resources for the entire project according to schedule;
  • Participate in developing strategies to overcome challenges or potential difficulties;
  • Assign tasks to all appointed artists in the project, in the absence of a coordinator, if necessary;
  • Inform all persons concerned of all changes or progress to the project;
  • Explain the differences between the predictions of the timing and the actual percentage of progress of the project;
  • Ensure the coordination team has all the relevant information about the project;
  • Communicate information received from the client to the persons concerned;
  • Organize, plan and participate in meetings to validate the progress of the project ;
  • Confirm with the coordination team the project's progress;
  • Modify and adapt the production schedule of the project according to changes and adapt necessary resources;
  • Ensure that work is carried out according to the specifics mentioned;
  • Start and manage the delivery process;
  • Deliver shots according to the received information;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
